When do we meet with our officiating pastor?
Couples must call for an appointment with their pastor 60 days prior to their wedding to set a consultation date. All consultations take place via Zoom.
Can our pastor officiate our wedding?
A Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ pastor will preside at all weddings. Additional pastors, priests and/or rabbis are permitted to participate in the wedding service. The couple must discuss such proposed participation with the presiding pastor before any invitation is extended. Guest clergy may be participants in the ceremony, but they may not lead or shape the form or theology of the service.
How early should we apply for my marriage application?
Marriage applications do expire. Because of this, we recommend waiting 30 days prior to your wedding to apply for a wedding license.
When should we submit our contracts?
Your contracts must be submitted no later than 60 days prior to your wedding. You may email them to MarianaB@gablesucc.org.
When should we submit our music selections?
You must select the music for your ceremony no later than 60 days prior to your wedding. If you fail to do so, we will apply the traditional music selections to your wedding.

Please note:
If you would like to have an alternate song performed live, you must provide the sheet music. You may purchase sheet music at MusicNotes.com and upload it in our music selections form.
If you are purchasing any add-ons, like songs with duets, or pre-recorded music, please discuss this with our Life Events Coordinator before submitting the form to ensure availability.
How much is the additional vocalist for a duet song?
The additional vocalist is $125 which must be paid 60 days prior to your wedding.
Can we have pre-recorded music played during the ceremony?
Yes, we have had a variety of song requests, all unique to each couple! The cost to play one or more pre-recorded songs during your ceremony is $150 which must be paid 60 days prior to your wedding.
May we have a flower girl drop flowers down the aisle?
All flowers dropped must be silk flowers. Decorative and bridal flowers may be real.
Will my wedding be livestreamed?
We do offer livestream services for an additional fee. The additional expense is $300 which must be paid 60 days prior to your wedding. Please discuss this option with our Life Events Coordinator no later than 60 days before your wedding to ensure availability for your ceremony.
What forms of payment does the church accept?
We accept the following payments:
- Credit/debit in person or over the phone. A 4% fee is applied.
- Personal check. You must place the date/time and the couple’s names in the memo. If being mailed, please add “ATTN: Life Events Coordinator” on the envelope.
- Cash.
The Life Events Coordinator is available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. You may stop by to make a payment or do so by phone call/postal mail.
When is my payment due?
A $500 nonrefundable deposit is due upon signing the contract. The remaining balance of $1,500 is due 90 days after your deposit is made or 60 days prior to your wedding, whichever comes sooner. All wedding expenses, including any add-ons, must be paid in full 60 days prior to your wedding date.
What happens if I cancel my wedding?
The deposit of $500 is nonrefundable. The remaining $1,500 may only be refunded if your date is rebooked by another party to cover the church costs.
